Set of instruments for one instrumentalist 30's
The ensembles used to be played by Albert Bergerault during all the villages festivals, weddings parties, among others… He had several models and on the front of each, was written the dance it was playing for. Here “The one step” with an automatic bass drum with pedal metallophone and glockenspiel. Rose and grey “Nacrolaque” with strass inserts.

Automatic drum, circa 1930
This kind of automatic drums were conceived for accordionist-singers as it was only directed with pedals. They were composed by snare drum’s roll, a bass drum, a woodblock and a Charleston.

Handmade xylophone during WWII, circa 1940
This xylophone was handcrafted by Albert Bergerault while he was a war prisoner, in Silesia, Poland. He succeeded to build it with wood from the camp, laces and blankets.

Musical xylochair, circa 1970
This xylophone with a chair shape was especially design for Gaston, a famous TV host, for one of his show. The chair can be played with mallets, exactly like a xylophone.
Vibra-marimba with switching keyboards, circa 1970
This instrument is unique because with one frame, two keyboards can be used as they can be switched. With varnished wood.

Handmade Sixxens for the Xenakis’ Pléïades, circa 1980
Pléïades (1979) is a masterpiece composed by Xenakis for 6 percusionists and divided in 6 movements. Three of them explore one kind of percussions (skins, keyboards and metal) and the fourth mixes several tones. As for every of his compositions, Xenakis works on a rhythmic and mathematical organization: chaos is organized following probability methods and treat the sound in its absolute abstraction.
