Jean François Durez

From St Amand les Eaux, Jean-Francois Durez began studying music in the municipal school of his town, before studying successively percussion and piano at the conservatories of Valenciennes, and Créteil. After brilliant studies at the Paris Conservatoire, crowned by the first prize unanimously percussion and DFS (piano accompaniment, analysis, sight reading, chamber music), he was appointed professor of percussion at the conservatory of the 17th district Paris. Following the contest, he was hired as percussionist with the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux and the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine.
Percussionist and pianist with many facets, Jean-Francois occurs as a soloist, accompanied by prestigious groups, and works regularly with many orchestras National (Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse ...)

He is a regular in the world and the variety of the musical, while accompanying numerous artists in concerts and on different albums (Nicoletta LAVILLIERS Bernard, Michel FUGAIN, Celine Dion, Sting, shows "Cabaret", "KING LION "), and performed with many jazz musicians (Richard Galliano, Didier Lockwood, Claude Egea, Jean-Marie Ecay, Pierrick Pedron ...) in various projects. Passionate musician, JF Durez is always looking for great encounters in different artistic worlds, always ready to share his passion in many master classes and various chamber music concerts.

Directeur musical de l’Union-Chorale de St Amand-les-Eaux et de l’Univers-Jazz Big-Band, il accompagne par ailleurs, en tant que percussionniste, le trio vocal « Les Mouettes », le Paname-Brass Ensemble, et est l’invité du projet « Nougaro façon trombone » avec le quatuor de trombones du Big-Band de Toulouse. Depuis septembre 2011, il vient également d’être nommé professeur de percussion, au Conservatoire à rayonnement départemental de Valenciennes.
