Jerry Tachoir

World renowned contemporary jazz mallet artist; Jerry Tachoir is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music.

Jerry is one of the most requested artist/clinicians in the mallet percussion world and received his first endorsement with the Ludwig Company in 1972, while still in high school and already a member of the Pittsburgh Symphony. 

Currently Jerry endorses the Bergerault line of mallet instruments and is now part of the Tama/Bergerault family. Jerry also endorses Innovative Percussion - JT23 Jerry Tachoir signature mallets.

Author of “Contemporary Mallet Method – an approach to the Vibraphone and Marimba” published by Riohcat Music and recommended study at several major university music departments

 Jerry was the first to release an educational vibraphone video available through Master Study Series. (www.masterstudyseries.com)

The Jerry Tachoir Group has performed at most of the major jazz festivals and concert halls throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. Some of the most recent are the Northsea Jazz Fest. in Holland, the prestigious Montreux Jazz Fest. in Switzerland, the International Festival de Jazz in Montreal, Ottawa Jazz Fest. etc…

Jerry was the featured artist/clinician at numerous Jazz Educator conventions as well as the International convention for the Percussive Arts Society.

The Duo Tachoir – (piano & vibes) has become quite popular on the jazz and college circuit. Their new recording “Shades of Blue” has also received rave reviews and international airplay.
